Cleaning and maintenance of clothes hangers

Mar 26,2025

A clothes rack is a rack specifically designed for hanging clothes. Clothes racks are a relatively early type of furniture in China. As early as the Zhou Dynasty, when the ritual system was implemented, the aristocratic class attached great importance to clothing and attire. To meet this need, racks specifically for hanging clothes appeared at that time. Ancient clothes racks have undergone new changes and development in modern times. The combination of traditional clothes rack styles and modern practical functions has produced new household products with a unique charm. So, how should these clothes racks, which are commonly found in modern homes, be cleaned and maintained?

1. Avoid hanging heavy clothes on the hanger. When a hanger bears heavy clothes, it is very likely to deform or break. The hanger itself has a low load-bearing capacity and can only bear the weight of ordinary clothes. If it is too heavy, it cannot support it, which easily leads to damage to the hanger, making it unusable. Moreover, if it is damaged while clothes are hanging, it is easy to scratch the clothes, damaging them, which has more serious consequences.

2. Try to avoid abrasion of the hanger's surface. The surface of the hanger is generally relatively soft and is easily damaged. When it is damaged, it will affect the gloss and appearance of the hanger and is prone to rust. When it is damaged or even rusted, if it is still used to dry clothes, the rust on the hanger is also easy to stain the clothes, damaging them.

3. Try to avoid contact between the hanger and water. Because the hanger itself is easily corroded and softened when it encounters water, and it is also easy to retain bacteria, for the sake of your health, try to avoid contact between the hanger and water. When using the hanger to dry clothes, try to wring out the water. In addition to easily corroding the hanger itself, if there is too much water and the clothes are too heavy, it is also easy to cause the hanger to deform and break.
